In one of Kiev’s Luxury Apartments Complex Diamond Hill, the architectural and interior design studio YoDezeen masterfully employ a tasteful palette, design furniture and stunning contemporary artworks to compose a bespoke high-end design.
The apartment differs with expressive individual style, which organically connects modernity and tradition, innovative ideas and classical methods.
It seems, that luxury and functionality are mutually exclusive, but precisely this combination was desired by YoDezeen customers. A young family with two children bought apartments of 320 sq. meters in residential estate Diamond Hill on Dnipro banks.
“We got an empty space: there were no divisions, just a couple of supporting columns, – told one of the project’s authors Iryna Babych. – On the one hand, freedom makes work easier: exercise your talent! On the other hand, you haven’t got the right to make a mistake, you cannot justify the air drain or overhang pyller on your way”. Authors got more freedom here in complement.
“It happens, when customers are overly familiar with the process, coordinate each subject. But that was not the case: “I like, what you’ve designed, – told a housekeeper. – Make it fancy!” So, we were fully in charge of furniture, decoration, textiles, shades matching”.
As breathtaking views came to light out of windows, the most important thing was to get the most out of it. Iryna Babych reflected on such an episode: “We did a layout, all things were eye-filling lined up. But when we came, before the building had started, on site, I imaginatively lied abed in one of the children’s room. And got, that the view herefrom was not the best. It was worthy to invert the bed to another wall and the matter shaped up. These significant details can be felt keenly only alive, on site”. Object status was underlined effectively with furniture and equipment of brands with unblemished reputation: Minotti, B&B Italia, Poliform, Rimadesio – a budget permitted to make a deserving choice.
The same aim had here gorgeous natural materials. Uncommonly architects managed to connect the history of our times, arrange, as project architect Iryna Babych says, time rendezvous. Gypsum modeled panels are in harmony with brass and concrete. “Firstly, we planned to leave supporting columns in original naked concrete, though material looked unaesthetic. For that reason we resorted to the decorative plaster, and made suffer in a large measure for master builders: we were gaining for timbering effect”.
Marble completes the palette of expensive textures; the four sanitary facilities are generously finished with marble. “Master builders word to word was filling us with photos of samples from mines, we were handling a huge amount of stone sorts. In owner’s bathroom marble is installed even on the ceiling.
“We were convinced, that it is unreal: what about airing, recessed lighting fittings? But we made as it had been planned. In the XXI century nothing is impossible”.
